I am Senior Associated Research Fellow in the Centre for Rural Development at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany), Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Botswana, and Research Associate at the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Pretoria (South Africa). I serve as the executive editor of the journal Religion & Development and am a co-founder of the International Network on Religious Communities and Sustainable Development.
My research interest lies in the transformative role of religion and theology in society, particularly in the global South. Key themes of my work are development and sustainability; prosperity, poverty and inequality; religious social practice and diaconia; African Christianity and African traditional religion; and the dynamics of religious hybridization and pluralization.
